My Story

80823

Aloha, my name is Chris Anderson. I have lived on Maui for 15 years. For several years, I lived on Waine'e Street, Lahaina Town and the last 3 years

our home

have been spent in Wahikule, next to the Mormon Church. We lost our home in the fire on 8/08/23. While it has been devastating to deal with the displacement of our lives, nothing compares to losing Lahaina Printsellers.

I have worked for this company for over 10 years. As Production Manager, Gallery Director and Head of Operations, I had dedicated the majority of my adult life to this business with the hopes of running it someday. We represented local artists and had over 2000 antique maps; while being one of the oldest galleries in Hawaii.

Unfortunately, we lost both galleries. I plan on rebuilding from the ground up, and while details are worked around for the artists, I wanted to get started on raising money for this colossal project.

[Disclaimer : I will be taking over as the new owner of Lahaina Printsellers. Alan Walker and Charlene Walker are completely retired and have no affiliation with the new gallery.]

100% of the sales of these shirts, will be going to this rebuild of Lahaina Printsellers, so we can be the first gallery there to offer a home to all the artists who lost their home and  life's worth of art. I will also be helping with the businesses on Front Street that I built connections with over the years.

Mahalo Nui Loa, for taking the time to read this. If you are a creative that lived in Lahaina or lost your livelihood here, please do not hesitate to reach out. If we can help you with a product that you offer for the purposes of helping raise money and awareness for the loss; we will be happy to assist.

Remain on Maui, Help Rebuild Lahaina, & Remember

This design reflects the damaged top of the Banyan Tree, but will ultimately survive and rebuild itself with its vast root system still remaining alive! I will remain on Maui to help rebuild the Lahaina that has been my home for my entire adult life. I want to be there to see the Lahaina I remember.

Banyan By The Sea - Todd Kawasaki

The Lahaina Banyan Tree, has served as the most memorable part of Lahaina for the hundreds of thousands of people who have visited it over the years, and just this year, celebrated its 150th year, since it was planted by missionaries a century and a half ago. Needless to say you can't remember Lahaina without this beautiful tree.
